Okay, I’m going to start off and say this is my fault entirely. My company has only a few users spread out all over the map at this time. I set up a VPN server as well as an Asterisk/FreePBX VOIP Server.
VOIP is still new for me, and since we had few users with different needs I didn’t find it practical to setup a provisioning server at the time. I took the few phones I needed and logged in and set them up for each user, but I made a mistake. I forgot the admin password for all of my Yealink T41Ps... thought I wrote it down in my notes where I keep track of all my passwords. I have everything except the Yealink Phones.
At this point, I don’t know what to do. Each phone is with a different user in a different state and I’ll I have is web GUI access to the login page.
I’m willing to bet there is no quick way to remedy this remotely.. anyone here with more professional background have ideas? I can’t even set up the phones to allow factory reset without asking for a password unless I have a provisioning server from what I can tell...
I’d be interested to hear what you guys have to say, thanks.
EDIT: I have since been able to reset the phones by pressing and holding the SPEAKER button when the phone begins to boot. It'll enter a screen that one would use to connect to TFTP in the event of a failed firmware upgrade. (No actual TFTP server is required if one just wants a factory reset) Pressing OK would begin the process, and wipes all data. Rebooting the phone one more time brings it back up. My phones are now all set to autoprovision, all are working, and I have MUCH better track of my passwords now. Thanks for the help everyone!
